General Introduction & Main View

Front page (intro) (note pop up window will display if the GPS is not enabled) no further warnings are given if the GPS is not active but tracking will not be possible.
From this View any of the six other views or the three menu items can be selected.
The pages are listed below but it is worth getting to know the setup and menu structure so that the system can be best tuned to what you want.If this is rather bewildering at first it may be more rewarding to jump to the quickstart page from the top line.
These menu options are available in this view.
There are six Views available each with access to a different set of items in the menu:
See menus section for details of what each menu offers and how to use it.

The Menu System

Note that depending on the device in use and the android version, the menu will display differently:
Some items will display in the top line as Action items. The number will be dependent on screen size and differs from view to view.
Additional items will be shown under the '3 dots' menu
If the device has a menu key then additional items are shown by using this.
In the illustration to the right all the available menus are available from the action bar and although the device has a menu button, this will have no effect.

Map View

Map View- This View provides the main tracking and mapping functionality of the Application. To the right one screenshot shows just the the map whilst the second includes a satellite view. Both are in 2D and exclude the compass and traffic data but show different, previously recorded tracks (in Blue)
The exit menu item and the Record (/ Stop Recording)control button are available from the action bar whilst the menu button will bring up the Settings sub-menu. See menus section for details of what each menu offers and how to use it.
To begin, touch the record button (red circle top right). At first it may take a few moments for the device to determine your position and will either show the last place the GPS remembers, The millenium stadium in Cardiff UK or zero longitude zero latitude (somewhere in Africa). The map or satellite picture is obtained fresh from the internet so a connection via 3G or WIFI is required to get this. The system will track and record without a map picture and will transfer to the picture later if required. Once the GGPS engine has determined your position and as you move, a red path will be described on the map. When finished, press the gray square in the top right of the screen and save the track using the suggested name or one of your own. Press menu and clear or the next time you begin to record, the track will be appended to the first one.

Heart Rate Monitor

The heart Rate monitor normally functions as part of the track recording however the rate can be shown on the button for the HRM on the intro page if pressed. Note that all the requisite preparations must be made before expecting this function to work. For details look HERE
When recording a track the HRM data is shown in the top Left of the map page and verbal details given (if on in preferences). The strip shows your current heart rate and the state of the HRM sender that you are using (If the sender sends this information out)

Music View

The view shown will vary by device. The app calls the default music player
Default Music Player

Statistics View

The current track being recorded (in Red)...note that the current track will only show up to the last position shown on the map view. Ensure recent update for accurate readouts.
The recalled (from memory) Track (in Blue)
An empty field if neither is available.
The add button will add the displayed file summary to the cumulative file record
The remove button will remove all instances (if any) of the displayed file from the cumulative file record.
The return button will change the view back to that previously showing (Map View or Cumulative Statistics View).

    • The recalled file if there is no recording on-going.
    • If nether is available an empty statistics screen is shown.
